Laura Linney's performance of weak, yet strong characters has earned her the title of one of today's greatest American actors. Born to a famous playwright's father but was raised by a single mom who made a living as a nurse, she became interested in theatre while working with her father during the summer, eventually studying acting, initially in Brown University and then at Juilliard School.
